LED is an essential feature of almost any high-end event - it is the "facade" of the venue layout, which beautifies the entire event and adds a lot of interactive fun. However, if you are new to the LED screen industry, it may be difficult to deeply understand and distinguish many models, as well as some professional terms.
First of all, we need to know, what does P mean? – P stands for pixel pitch.
The smallest picture element in an LED display is called a pixel. Commonly referred to as "dots" or "pixels".
Pitch is usually expressed as P + number, where the number represents the distance between two pixels in millimeters (mm).
The dot pitch of P3 is 3mm, and that of P4 is 4mm.
1) The P3 screen of the same size and model has a lower dot pitch, and the images presented are more delicate and high-definition. At the same time, the smaller the dot pitch, the higher the price.
2) Because P4 has fewer pixels per square meter, the brightness is higher than P3. If the LED screen is placed indoors near a window, a P4 with increased brightness is required.
3) The point density is different. In P3, 111,111 pixels are accessible per unit area. In P4, you get 62,500 pixels per unit area.
As mentioned earlier, the lower the P value, the stronger the ability to restore image details, and the higher the cost of screen matching.
The choice of P value is mainly determined by the viewing distance.
The best viewing distance of advertising led screen = dot pitch/(0.3~0.8)
For example, for an led display with a pixel pitch of P20 (20mm), the best viewing distance is 25 to 66 meters. If you stand close, you can see the individual pixels on the screen, which is more grainy. However, from a distance, it can be difficult to discern the specifics of the features with the naked eye.
Therefore, choosing a P number does not mean that smaller is better; the best way is to calculate the point spacing according to the visible distance of the activity.
For example, P2 is an indoor small pitch LED display model, which is often used in the indoor spaces of governments and institutions, and has specific requirements for close-up viewing. P3 is an indoor high-definition LED display model, which is often used in conference rooms, lecture halls, exhibition halls, projections, corridors and aisles. It is suitable for the viewing distance of 3 meters, and the area is more than 4 square meters, and the effect is better.
In fact, smaller pixels consume more power and are more expensive to produce. However, smaller pixels can provide higher resolution. In other words, the greater the resolution, the greater the cost.
It all depends on your requirements.
The models, prices, points, and viewing distances of LED screens P3 and P4 are all different, which is an overall summary of the differences between them. When choosing an LED display, it must be analyzed in detail. It is important to note that outdoor and indoor LED screens are different from each other. Smaller models may not be as bright as needed for outdoor use.
